E-Waste is a discarded electronic device that we no longer use, like phones, laptops, & TVs. If we don't dispose them properly, then e-waste can cause serious damages to our environment.
- Pollution: Toxic materials used in electronic devices like mercury, lead may leak into soil, & water which would harm wildlife and pollute natural resources.
- Loss of Resources: There are many valuable resources used in electronical devices like metals, gold, which are thrown away instead of recycled.
- Health Risk: This toxic chemicals can cause serious health problems, especially for people living near the e waste disposal sites.
- Increasing waste: As new electronical devices are being released, old devices are getting discarded quickly. Because of this there is increase in number of landfill sites.
- Unsafe Practices: At some places, e-waste is recycled using unsafe methods like burning. It increases the release of harmful chemicals into air and soil, putting both the workers and our environment at risk.
